The Girl with Lymphedema

A parody
with apologies to all bossa nova lovers

Tall or short or plain or lovely
The girl with lymphedema goes walking
And when she passes,
each one she passes goes, “Aah!”

If you’ve got to wear compression
A sleeve that’s fancy makes an impression
So when you pass them,
each fashionista goes, “Aah!”

Colors from navy to neon
You don’t just have to wear flesh tones
Yes, there are patterns to choose from
Your original sleeve from PT
Can be replaced with something to see

Slim or stout or young or senior
The girl with lymphedema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile -
and envy her sleeve
such a beautiful sleeve,
my next sleeve, I believe…
