Father’s Day
This weekend I had the opportunity to spend time with family. We were not only celebrating Father’s Day, but also a significant birthday of one of the fathers in our midst. A photographer came to take family portraits since all this gentleman’s offspring, children and grandchildren, were present.
It was a joyous time. Watching the photo session, I reflected on the influence this one man has had on so many lives. He is an important person, not only to his immediate family, but also to his children’s partners and to the next generation as well. His life also affects people who come in contact with the folks mentioned above. He is a caring man, and a man of integrity; the world is a better place for it.
It made me think of the influence any one of us may have. We might have a family structure quite different from the one described above, yet we all have our own spheres of influence. Our interaction with one person can affect how they interact with someone they meet, and carry on forward to someone we will never know. Our stories of hope and encouragement can spread through this world, making a difference to complete strangers.
