Relearning

For this week’s post, I went back and looked at what I had been writing around two years ago, in the time leading up to and following my treatment for breast cancer. I wrote the following in the early days after surgery, when I couldn’t do much of anything:

Relearning to enjoy simple things:

A nice cup of tea

A shower, just the right temperature

Cotton fabric against my skin

Chocolate (okay - that one didn’t really have to be relearned!)

A note of kindness from a friend

Sunshine

Fresh air

Just sitting quietly
